Career Overview/ Highlight : Prithvi Shaw IPL 2018 to 2024
Shaw got an IPL contract even before he led India to the U19 World Cup in February 2018. Delhi Daredevils spotted him early and chose to invest in him.
And although he got an IPL contract worth ₹1.2 crore, he struggled for consistency in the first four years. He reached the absolute nadir in 2020 when his repeated failures forced Ricky Ponting to bench him for a few matches.
Shaw grew determined from his failures, coming into his own in 2021. He showed his prowess as a power-play specialist as he slammed six boundaries in an over against Kolkata Knight Riders. He totaled 479 runs only to slack off in 2022 and 2023, where he scored just 283 and 106 runs.
None of these swayed Delhi Capitals management as they knew Shaw was one for the future and retained him for 2024
