Mayank Agarwal made his IPL debut long before some of his contemporaries. In 2011, he played his first IPL match, opening the innings for RCB. A lot of time has passed since then, and Agarwal’s career has seen a few highs.

Despite his initial struggle, Agarwal became a Test specialist for the national team, and his T20 game suffered, but years of experience ensured that he quickly adapted to the T20 challenge. As he moved to the Punjab Kings in 2018, the franchise was chastised for picking someone like him.

But he proved his detractors wrong with two outstanding seasons: the first one in 2020, where he accounted for 424 runs, including a century, while the second one coming in 2021, where he scored 441 runs.

Despite his sublime form, he was let go after just one flop season in 2022 as Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for ₹8.25 crore. He had a decent outing with the bat in his first season at the Hyderabad-based franchise.
