Career Overview/ Highlight : Rahul Tripathi IPL 2017 to 2024
Rahul Tripathi’s IPL career changed when MS Dhoni promoted him as an opener at Rising Pune Supergiant. After buying him for ₹10 lakh, the franchise initially slotted him in the middle order, where he failed to score big.
It was then that he was asked to open, and the move did wonders as he went into account for 391 runs in his debut season in 2017 before moving to Rajasthan Royals in 2018. Here, the runs suddenly dried up, and in 2020, the management left him in the lurch. He moved to KKR in 2020, but his fortunes never soared.
Determined by his failures, he had a superb show in 2021 and 2022, accounting for 397 and 413 runs, respectively. His move to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 worked wonders, and though the franchise finished third from bottom, Tripathi made his India debut riding on such a performance. He had a decent outing with the batting in the 2023 edition.
